Mexican Revolutionary Coinage: Guerrero - Taxco GB 226 Counterfeit
GB 226 Counterfeit Obverse
GB 226 Counterfeit Reverse
Note: This is a fairly deceptive counterfeit. One immediate tipoff should be the high grade of the piece, as coins from this series are usually very well worn. On the obverse, the eagle's wing is not reengraved on the upper left side, and "X" in MEXICO has a horizontal tool mark at the top left. One the reverse the olive branch to left has fewer berries than the genuine coin. This counterfeit probably dates from the early 1960s.
